Short answers.
Does Boive receive my video files?
No. Uploads go from iOS directly to the Google Photos resumable-upload API. Boive servers never receive or store your media bytes.
Will the app delete my originals?
No. Source media is never deleted or mutated automatically. After a backup is verified complete, you choose when to clear space on your phone, devices, or cards.
Does sharing create a duplicate on my iPhone?
Temporarily while queued. Because iOS apps do not grant permanent direct access to shared files, Camera Backup stages a temporary local copy so uploads can continue in the background after the share sheet closes. As soon as the upload is verified in Google Photos (or if you cancel the transfer), Camera Backup automatically deletes that staged copy.
When is a backup marked complete?
Only after local digest checks and Google Photos metadata verification both succeed.
When will Camera Backup be available?
It is marked Coming for now. Availability and download details will be published here when the product ships.
